Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Budgts, LLC for using Shipwright, our app for learning to build software with AI. By downloading or using Shipwright you agree to them.
The short version

Using Shipwright
You must be at least 13 to use Shipwright. If you're under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you and make any purchase. Shipwright has no accounts: your progress, your answers and the documents you write stay on your device.
Free and paid access
Modules 1 and 2 are free. Full access unlocks every module, the builder's pack and the Shipwright certificate. You can buy it as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a lifetime purchase: one payment, with no subscription.
Purchases are made through Google Play or Apple's App Store, which take the payment under their own terms. The app shows the price before you buy, and your store adds any tax that applies. Prices may change; a new subscription price applies from a later renewal, after your store tells you about it.
Subscriptions and free trials
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date: in Google Play, under Payments & subscriptions; on iPhone, in Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription. After you cancel, full access continues until the end of the period you paid for.
If a plan includes a free trial (the yearly plan currently starts with 7 days free), you're charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Stores may limit free trials to one per account.
Refunds
Google Play and Apple handle payments, so refunds follow their policies: request one from Google Play or on Apple's Report a Problem page. If something went wrong, email us and we'll help.
Lifetime access
A lifetime purchase gives full access for as long as we offer Shipwright, on devices signed in to the store account you bought it with. On a new device, open Settings, then Membership, and tap Restore purchases.
Your content and ours
The answers and documents you write in Shipwright are yours, and they stay on your device. Shipwright's lessons, diagrams, games, artwork, music and its mascot, Finn, belong to Budgts, LLC or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own learning.
Learning, not professional advice
Shipwright teaches how software is built with AI tools. Its examples are simplified for learning, and AI tools change quickly, so check current documentation before you rely on a technique. You're responsible for the software you build and publish, and for following the terms of any tool or service you use.
Acceptable use
- Don't get around Shipwright's purchase checks or share paid content outside the app.
- Don't copy, resell, redistribute or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
- Don't use Shipwright for anything unlawful.
Warranty and liability
Shipwright is provided as is. We work hard to keep it accurate and working but can't promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, Budgts, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Shipwright in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law that can't be waived.
Apple's App Store
If you got Shipwright from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple isn't responsible for Shipwright or its content.
Ending
You can stop using Shipwright at any time by deleting it; cancel any subscription in your store first. We may change Shipwright, or stop offering it after giving notice in the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Changes and contact
